It's never too late to begin boxing! I am 26 and continue competitively fighting as an amateur in NY> I am inspired to hear your story. If you want to learn a little more about me, I invite you to check out a blog I wrote on it here: http://www.squidoo.com/why-girls-are-tougher-than-guys

Let me know what you think.:) Good luck to you.

Boxing as an adult

Hello,

I never like to tell someone they cannot do something ever or its impossible because nothing is impossible. I will however tell you it would be very unlikely to become a pro in a year. If you did it would not be a very long lasting career. You could however me a good prospective amateur in a year. The best thing you can do is train, train and train some more get a few fights under your belt. Then next year enter the the novice golden glove tournament. Then I would do the same thing train, train and train a lot more. The following year enter the open golden glove tournament. You will be amazed at the different caliber of fighter. If you do well enough you can go to the national GG tournament. At this point if you are successful competing you can transition into the pros pretty easy.
That would be my advice if you want to become a pro in a short time. It will take a lot of hard work and discipline and probably 2-3 years but if its what you want its always possible.
