Take a life lesson from boxing.
by: Anonymous

To train to be a boxer cost some money. You have to get your training and fighting equipment but there are clubs that will provide most of that equipment. The real cost is in the emotional cost. You can't expect to learn how to box in a few lessons. The sweet science takes a while to learn and then you will never learn it all. There is a good chance you will never master boxing. Be willing to put all of your being into becoming a great fighter and be satisfied with the outcome. Not everyone can be a champion. If you can't accept that then don't start or the emotional cost will cost you more then money ever could. It is a life lesson. Put your all into life and be satisfied with the results. Don't beat yourself to death with what you consider failure. Just like in a fight. Give you all and walk away from the ring without looking back. You gave you best and you should have no regrets. Brian,

There are several ways around spending the money. First several boxing gyms are not for profit so you can box for free. Your only cost would be for your boxing license.
As far as training you can do a lot on your own in regards to working on fitness and conditioning. An option could be to simply stop in a boxing gym once a week get tips. Then over the course of the following week work on what you were told.
There are some great tips on here you can follow to get into the sport to get started.
I am sure there are many alternatives as well..Hope this helps.
