Dangers of amatuer boxing ?

by Gil
(New York)

I was thinking about fighting in competition but I'm worried about the repercussions that come along with the sport. I'm not willing to deal with injuries such as a bruised lip, headache, or a sore/broken nose. I sparred a few times but even though I have potential I don't have the hunger to fight, maybe because boxing isn't my life and I have other things going for me. What do you think ? Should it just be a hobby and no fighting ?

If you are not willing to deal with injuries then why are you even considering boxing? Just because you have potential? Well you will never know if you are indeed good if you are not willing to take up risks.
