wanna train hard and quit smoking

I've been boxing for 5 years and have had some potential fights. A few amateur shows which have been successfull. I have picked up a smoking habit and havent' had a fight since because of my smoking. It is effecting my stamina and i want to stop to get back to very intense training but it just seems difficult. does anyone reccommend any ways to help me stop!!!!

There is no place in boxing if you want to be the best you can be. I can't understand why a person would risk injury or even death by doing something so dangerous to your body as smoking. If you smoke quit now or give up boxing till you have the dedication to quit this insane habit. You can smoke and box but you will never be the best you can be. In most cases you will just be an opponent for someone else to kick the snot out of. Smoking ruins your cardio and boxing can be a very high cardio sport. If you can't understand no smoking for boxers you shouldn't be in the sport. You need to respect your body in order to perform well in any sport. Get real and don't ask someone else how to stop a bad habit. Do it yourself or quit trying to be an fighter.

The key to beating smoking is a day at a time. Find the time where you are most constantly reaching for a cigarette such as in the car in the morning etc.. Then replace a cigarette with chewing gum during this time or just avoid doing it. Slowly ween yourself, the other option would be to purchase a electric cigarette to prevent the smoke being inhaled and all your getting is the nicotine. This will give you look feel cigarette plus nicotine. Then you can slowly ween your nicotine levels.
