What is High intensity interval training?

High intensity interval training is a form of cardio which is beneficial to burning fat in a short and intense workout.

This is beneficial for weight loss and strength gains. The next question you may have how does this exactly work?

You would start your work out with a 5-10 minute warm up same as with any work out.

Next I want you to look at this example we will put your how vigorous your work out is on a 1-10 scale. 1 being you are walking at a very slow comfortable pace 10 being you are sprinting as hard as your body will physically let you go.

An example would be as followed.

Walking 2-3 minutes at intensity 2-3.

Jogging 1-2 minutes at intensity 4-5.

Walking 2-3 minutes at intensity 2-3.

Jogging 1-2 minutes at intensity 4-5.

Sprinting 30 seconds at intensity 7-9.

Jogging 1-2 minutes at intensity 4-5.

Sprinting 30 seconds at intensity 7-9.

Jogging 1-2 minutes at intensity 4-5.

Sprinting 30 seconds at intensity 7-9.

Jogging 1-2 minutes at intensity 4-5.

High Intensity Interval training can be used in more than just running. I used running as a basic example. This could apply to hitting the heavy bag doing sudden burt of punches. Or it could be the same for your intensity for jump roping. More and more athletes are turning to High Intensity interval training because it works.
